Founded:

1999

Mission:

The Martha's Vineyard Film Society is a member-funded non-profit arts organization dedicated to screening the best in independent films, movie classics, documentaries, and world cinema for a diverse audience.

Major Programs:

We currently program films year round, with established series at the Cornell Theater, the Movie Museum at the Grange Hall, and outdoor films at Featherstone. The Society also sponsors film-related speakers, educational programs and special events to enhance its main mission and increase the community appreciation of fine cinema in all its forms.

The Martha's Vineyard Film Society is the organizer of the annual MV International Film Festival, a four day/evening festival celebrating films from around the globe.  At the center of our festival we aim to help you discover other places, people and cultures different from our own.

We are an entirely volunteer run organization, so all of our funding goes towards programming.

We screen more than 65 feature films a year, and several short programs at over five Island venues. We are looking for donations to help us upgrade our projection equipment and sound - or your creative suggestions.
