Mission:

The purpose of the Island Community Chorus is to foster singing and enjoyment of choral music and to present public concerts.

Major Programs:

Annual concerts in December, April and July.

Chorus repertoire includes: Bach, Fauré, Handel, Haydn, Lauridsen, Mendelssohn, Pinkham, Praetorius, Purcell, Sweelinck, Vaughn Williams, Verdi.

Also:  Irving Berlin, Gilbert & Sullivan, Humperdinck, Richard Rodgers, John Rutter, Randall Thompson, Spirituals and American Folksongs.

Other Information:

The Island Community Chorus Peter R. Boak Music Award is given to a graduating senior planning to enter a career in the world of music.  Available to MVRHS, Charter School, Private Schools and Home Schooled Students.  The current amount of the award is $2,000.  Beginning in 2009, our Endowment Fund has been transferred to the Permanent Endowment For Martha's Vineyard.  Applications for this award, as well as donations and bequests may be sent to Ralinda Lurie, Executive Director, P.
