Thanks to the collaboration of the Oak Bluffs Public Library, the Martha’s Vineyard Donor Collaborative and a grant from the Peter and Elizabeth Tower C. Foundation, Island non-profits no longer have to travel to Boston for grant research. The Martha's Vineyard Nonprofit Resource Center duplicates the resources and expertise available at AGM's center in Boston, and brings much needed grant seeking support to the Vineyard.
Housed at the Oak Bluffs Public Library and available free to the public, The Martha's Vineyard Nonprofit Resource Center is a Foundation Center Cooperating Collection, so the full resources of that national organization, including their research database of over 100,000 grant makers, is available to Vineyarders. The center also has a Coordinator, with grant writing and research experience, who is available by appointment to assist those who are researching and writing grants. To schedule a session with Felicia Cheney, the Center's Coordinator, send an e-mail to grants@mvdonors.org or call 508-645-3690.
The center also has useful books, periodicals, directories and other print resources to support non-profits' grant seeking efforts and offer guidance in various aspects of their operations:
